Weston Park Foundation appoints new Board members
The Board of the Weston Park Foundation (WPF), the independent charitable trust dedicated to preserving Weston Park and its surrounding parkland, announces the following Board changes.
Christina Kenyon-Slaney will step down as Chair in June this year following over a decade of dedicated service and having reached the end of her term at WPF. The Board has elected Harry Kenyon-Slaney, a trustee since 2023, to succeed Christina Kenyon-Slaney as Chair. Harry has had a long career in industry and currently sits as a non-executive director on the boards of a number of public and private companies mainly in the natural resources sector. Christina Kenyon-Slaney joined the Board in 2015 and was elected Chair in November 2019 and has provided exceptional leadership and strategic oversight of Weston Park’s transformation and stewardship.
At the same time, three long-serving trustees The Hon. Selina Graham, Mark Bridgeman and Charles Moyle will retire at the end of their terms, having collectively guided the Foundation through some of the recent challenges faced by the wider destination and hospitality sectors. Nicholas Crawley will continue as a trustee having served WPF since 2020.
To replace the retiring trustees, the Board is also pleased to announce that Penelope Elliott, Viscount Newport and Viscountess Newport have all agreed to join the board as trustees with effect from 9th June 2026. Together, they bring a wide breadth of very relevant wisdom and experience which will help to guide the Foundation in the years ahead with Lord Newport and Lady Newport joining as important and knowledgeable custodians of the family’s history.
Harry Kenyon-Slaney, Incoming Chair of WPF, said: “It is an honour to succeed Christina as Chair and I wish to thank her, as well as Selina, Mark and Charles, for the exemplary and unwavering leadership they have all shown to the Foundation over many years. Weston Park has an extraordinary heritage and is a place of great cultural importance. With 2026 being the 40th anniversary of the Foundation’s successful stewardship of the house, its wonderful collections and beautiful parkland, I much look forward to working closely with management, and with Alexander and Eliza Newport as custodians of the family’s history, to ensure that it continues to be shared with and enjoyed by future generations.”
Christina Kenyon-Slaney, Outgoing Chair commented: “It has been a great privilege to serve as a trustee and then Chair of the Weston Park Foundation for more than a decade. Together with an exceptional Board and management team, we have strengthened the Foundation’s charitable purpose and ensured Weston Park continues to thrive for the benefit of the public. I am immensely proud of what has been achieved and am confident that the Foundation is well placed for the future. I am delighted to be handing over to Harry Kenyon-Slaney who has served as a trustee since 2023, as well as to the new trustees whose undoubted commitment and vision will guide Weston Park successfully in the future.”
The newly appointed Chair and trustees remain committed to the Foundation’s core charitable purpose of preserving and sharing Weston Park’s remarkable heritage, including the House, collections, and 1,000 acres of parkland, for public benefit.
