A Weston Wedding:
Niamh & James

From University Days to “I Do” Niamh & James’ Weston Wedding

Some love stories begin quietly, without any sense of how far they’ll go. For Niamh and James, it all started one day at the University of Leeds in September 2015. Fast forward a few years, and that university connection became the foundations for a life together, leading them all the way to their wedding weekend at Weston Park in October 2025.

It was an absolute pleasure to help Niamh and James bring their vision to life. From their beautifully considered colour palette to their timeless choice of a classic vintage car, getting to know them and planning their day was a real privilege.

As always, if you have any questions or would like to start planning your dream wedding here at Weston, I would love to hear from you.

The Proposal and Finding the Venue

When it came time to propose, James chose a place already close to their hearts: Abersoch in Wales. On what began as a completely ordinary Saturday morning, the couple headed out for a beach walk where James proposed.

From there, the next big decision naturally followed: finding the perfect venue.

From the very beginning of wedding planning, Weston Park was in a league of its own. While many venues were considered, nothing else quite compared.

‘It’s a spectacular place, with everything we were looking for. Being able to use all of the different parts of the House for different parts of the day, knowing our friends and family could stay over in the beautiful bedrooms and being able to have our wedding breakfast and evening party in the Orangery definitely sealed the deal for us’

For Niamh and James, Weston simply felt right.

The Planning Process

The planning process for Niamh and James was, in their own words, genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. Rather than feeling stressful or overwhelming, it became a relaxed and exciting part of the journey. With Katy and the wider Weston team guiding them through each stage, they always felt supported and confident that everything was on track, which made the experience smooth and stress-free.

‘We loved it! It was stress free and a really fun time. Our favourite part of the process was definitely the wedding tasting.’

The Big Day

Seeing Weston fully set up for the first time was a moment that truly took Niamh and James’ breath away. Even with a clear vision in their minds after months of planning, nothing quite prepared them for seeing it brought to life.

When reflecting on their favourite moment of the day, neither could choose just one. The entire day felt like a collection of perfect moments stitched together. One memory that stands out is sitting at their sweetheart table during the wedding breakfast – sharing quiet moments together while looking out over everyone they love gathered in the Orangery, a feeling they know will stay with them forever.

‘The whole day was just incredible and we were just absolutely blown away seeing our vision come to life. Every wedding comes with a funny story though – perhaps the most memorable is the fact there was a storm on our wedding day and a tree had blown down, blocking the bridal party’s route from the Temple of Diana to the main House. Thankfully the Weston team were on it and I knew nothing about it until it had already been sorted!

‘The whole team at Weston went above and beyond, from the initial planning stages to the day itself – especially Katy, Martin & John. We had so many nice comments from guests about how incredible the food and service were throughout the whole day.’

What would you say to someone considering Weston?

For Niamh and James, it was not just a perfect wedding day, but a perfect wedding weekend. They describe the entire experience, from the planning journey through to the celebration itself, as genuinely enjoyable, calm, and full of excitement. Weston stood out to them as the most stunning venue, but what truly made the difference was the people behind it.

‘We highly recommend Weston Park for your special day. The whole planning process and the day itself could not have been more enjoyable. It’s the most stunning venue and the incredible staff made it so amazing.’
