Join us and celebrate Chinese New Year at Weston Park!
We’ve teamed up with the CultureKind Chinese Community to bring you a vibrant celebration to welcome in the Year of the Snake. Experience the magic of the Lantern Procession, watch captivating traditional Chinese performances, and immerse yourself in the cultural beauty of the House.
On Sunday 16th February, the Lantern Parade will leave the Granary and set off for the House, cascading colour and light through the Park, led by a traditional dancing dragon. Once the parade reaches the grandeur of Weston’s magnificent Dining Room, step inside to enjoy an evening of vibrant traditional Chinese performances.
From Monday 17th February to Sunday 23rd February, the House will be ‘Lit by Lanterns’ and visitors will be welcomed to take a look at the House in a whole new light.
CultureKind Chinese Community will also be exhibiting in the Rose Paterson Art Gallery for the month of February. The Rose Paterson Art Gallery is open daily and free to enter.

Follow the Dragon!
On Sunday 16th February, the colourful Lantern Parade will leave the Granary and set off for the House, cascading colour and light through the Park, led by a traditional dancing dragon. After taking part in the parade, step into the House and immerse yourself in a selection of traditional Chinese performances.
Before the Lantern Procession, we are also hosting a range of activities in the Rose Paterson Art Gallery including Lantern Making where visitors can make a lantern to use in the lantern procession.
This event is FREE to enter and visitors can make a lantern to bring with them to join in with the procession. Please register your interest below.

As this is a non ticketed, free of charge event, we are asking all visitors to the Lantern Parade to register below.
Chinese performances include Chinese dancing, singing and traditional instruments
If you choose to make a lantern in the Rose Paterson Art Gallery prior to the Lantern Parade, some lanterns will be free of charge and some will require a small fee.

See the House in a whole new light!
Following the Lantern Parade on Sunday 16th February, the Lanterns will be hung around the House, giving our visitors a whole new way of viewing the House and Collection, lit by the bright colours of Chinese lanterns.

The House will not be open on Saturday 22nd February
